A difficult decision
Recently, with the passing of our King Edward the Confessor, our Witan is facing a difficult decision to make. Who should be king? Well, the correct answer is Harold Godwinson and here is why.
Who is Harold Godwinson
Harold Godwinson is the Earl of Wessex and was the leader of Edward the Confessor’s army. He has proved himself that he is a strong and brave man who can protect our lands.
Not only was he a trusted advisor AND brother in-law to King Edward, but because King Edward was a very religious man,he spent most of his time in prayer. So Harold became more dominant in running the country. He managed a lot of important decisions for the country.

Why Harold should become King this year (1066)

First of all, Harold has excellent leadership skills. Don’t you want a powerful, wise and fair king? Someone who can protect us from threats and inspire us? Now, I understand that this will be a difficult decision due to the desire of Harald Hadrada and William of Normandy to rule England, but do we really want one of them as king? Both aren’t English and not as well-known as Harold is. If one of them rules over our country, who knows what changes can occur?
